Attorney Eric F. Leroy
Eric F. Leroy is an associate attorney at Knitter & Knitter, LLP handling the day-to-day litigation needs of the firm’s clients. Although Mr. Leroy typically handles a wide variety of civil and probate litigation, he is most experienced in areas of Conservatorship law, Trust law, and Elder Abuse Law.
Some of Mr. Leroy’s recent results include obtaining an elder abuse judgment which included double damages and attorney fees, the denial of several unmeritorious domestic violence and elder abuse restraining orders, stopping and/or obtaining the removal of Conservators and Trustees in multiple contested matters, and litigating trust disputes to ensure that the settlor’s testamentary intent is preserved in the face of improper estate plan changes, contests, and objections.
Mr. Leroy is experienced in helping clients in matters where settlement is possible obtain a best possible outcome. Mr. Leroy routinely prepares cases for mediation and is skilled at obtaining favorable results for clients using various forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Mr. Leroy also has a variety of academic experience and is a graduate of UC Davis School of Law and an editor of the CEB’s elder law litigation guide. Mr. Leroy often acts as a judge for student trial competitions and has acted as presiding judge for multiple King Hall trial competitions over the past few years. Mr. Leroy is passionate about trial work and is excited to assist clients in obtaining favorable results both in and outside of the courtroom.
