Dave and Vickie have now come full circle from the larger firm environment forming their specialty firm handling complex trust and probate matters and providing hands on business and personal legal advice and guidance. Knitter & Knitter focuses on the client as a person with real life problems that need to be addressed personally by the attorney with the knowledge and experience. Recognized as sophisticated strategists, we find solutions to problems others do not even consider. Knitter & Knitter believes in litigating aggressively, yet understands the reality that most cases settle and should not be litigated at all costs. We offer practical advice and long term views towards litigation and relationships. Our experience in the court gives us a unique edge to provide better advice to our business, individual and estate planning clients. We currently serve clients who live throughout the United States. We are able to handle litigation, negotiation and mediation throughout California with emphasis in the greater San Francisco Bay area and Sacramento region including Solano County, Yolo County, Napa County, Contra Costa County, Sonoma County, Sacramento County, Alameda County, Marin County and San Francisco County.

Dave and Vickie met in 1988 at McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento California the year they graduated and were admitted to the California Bar. A year later they married, forming their first partnership, now a family of six. Vickie started her career with a prominent downtown Sacramento firm. Vickie handled complex and unique litigation including the 1986 flood cases. After the birth of the third of four Knitter children, Vickie took time off to be with the Knitter’s children.

Dave gained immediate trial experience in a lengthy anti trust and unfair trade case while with a small Sacramento firm with whom he continued after clerking during law school. Dave ultimately opened his own office on American River Drive in Sacramento in 1990 focusing on general, business, employment and real estate litigation as well as advising businesses. In 1998, Dave gave up his Sacramento practice to join the Napa Solano law firm of Gaw Van Male where he worked for 8 years as a Partner, the firm’s Estate Litigation Department Chair, manager of the firm’s Vacaville office, and manager of all Solano County litigation.

In February 2006, Dave and Vickie opened their law firm of Knitter & Knitter. In March 2009, due to a need for more space, they moved to the Orchard Professional Building in Vacaville. As parents, attorneys and business persons, the Knitters understand that each client has different interests and needs and we provide advice and solutions based upon a client’s unique legal and personal needs.  Knitter & Knitter believes in giving back to the community and Dave and Vickie personally contribute their time and provide financial support to numerous local organizations focusing on elder and youth issues such as prevention of elder abuse and education and after school activities for youth.
